Can I cover my face during Umrah?

Umrah ceremonies are similar for men and women although there are several restrictions to protect and respect women. Female pilgrims said their garments covered their bodies so they didn’t require an Ihram.

One must be cleaned before ihram

Both men and women pilgrims must shower remove hair and filth and enter Ihram. Females should remember their special days and see a doctor before leaving. Early period-stopping drug can help with all travels but they must follow the doctor instructions or they cannot go on this holy voyage or must wait.

Pilgrim Women Dress

Women can wear clean hair and body covering Ihram or equivalent clothes. A clean untrendy attire is best for women. Male pilgrims must wear white Ihram while women do not. Women cannot cover their faces during Ihram.

Performing a Female Pilgrim’s Tawaf

Except than revealing the shoulder like men ladies have no other Tawaf restrictions. Female pilgrims cannot cover their faces in the Tawaf. Female pilgrims must avoid crowds to kiss the black stone.

Women Face should reveal

 When in ihram for Umrah a lady must cover her face and hands. This puts her in ihram just like a man cannot wear casual clothes. She wrong to hide her face. We worship the Prophet peace be upon him and follow his teachings. I know some people hunt for reasons to cover a woman face even in ihram.

Women cannot cover their faces during ihram or prayer during Umrah or Hajj. A woman can cover her face at other times although Islam does not demand it. In Islam women must cover their bodies outside save for their faces and hands.

It Is Illegal to Cover Your Face

Muslim women must cover their faces when around non mahrams. Hajj and Umrah ladies in ihram should cover their faces with anything else since the Prophet PBUH forbade niqabs. Ihram women cannot cover their faces with a niqab. A lady can hide her face in front of non-Mahram males by drawing a cloth from above her head.
